The role blends clinical eye care with retail service, demanding precise measurements, knowledge of lens technologies, and outstanding customer service. Reliability and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Dispensing Optician License required.
• Minimum of 5 years opticianry experience and strong reliability.
• Knowledge of lens materials, coatings, and frame anatomy; ability to interpret prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with selecting frames based on prescription needs and style.
• Educate patients on lens materials, coatings, and technologies.
• Explain pricing, warranties, and insurance benefits related to eyewear.
• Read and interpret prescriptions from optometrists or ophthalmologists.
• Take precise optical measurements such as pupillary distance and segment height.
• Adjust frames for comfort and proper optical alignment.
• Submit and track eyewear orders with labs or vendors.
• Inspect glasses for accuracy and lens quality; perform minor repairs.
