Job summary

FiberLight, LLC is seeking an Optical Transport Engineer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to design, deploy, and optimize fiber optic networks using DWDM and ROADM technologies.

Candidates should have 12+ years in network engineering, strong experience with Ciena and Fujitsu equipment, and a solid background in optical networking, with an emphasis on system performance and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field; Master’s preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience in network engineering focusing on fiber optic transmission, DWDM, ROADM technologies.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Ciena and Fujitsu optical equipment, including configuration and optimization.
• Strong knowledge of optical networking principles including signal propagation, attenuation, dispersion, and amplification.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain fiber optic transmission systems using DWDM and ROADM technologies.
• Develop and optimize network architectures for high availability and performance.
• Analyze optical transport equipment from vendors such as Ciena and Fujitsu.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance to ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies.
