Job summary

Lumilens in San Jose is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to own and optimize manufacturing processes for 800G and 1.6T transceivers, including die attach, wire bond, and active alignment. This hands-on role partners with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and design teams to drive yield, throughput, and quality in high-volume production.

You will develop process specs, control plans, and equipment algorithms, lead change control under QMS, and apply data analytics and SPC to root out

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years in high-volume optical transceiver and/or laser manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with die attach, wire bond, and active alignment.
  • Strong data analysis, SPC, and QMS understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, prove out, and deploy manufacturing processes across transceiver assembly.
  • Own process documentation: specs, work instructions, control plans, FMEA.
  • Lead or support equipment selection and new equipment introduction.
  • Collaborate with design engineering and contract manufacturers to ensure DFM.
  • Plan qualification, reliability, and burn-in testing for new products.
  • Analyze yield data to identify root causes and drive CAPA actions.
  • Automate processes to support scale-up and high-volume production.
