Job summary

Corning Incorporated seeks a mechanical design engineer with 4–7 years of experience to develop injection molded and sheet metal parts. You will create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings, support analysis and patent work, and collaborate with global teams to deliver high‑quality optical and hardware solutions.

The role requires strong English communication, a BS in Engineering (Mechanical preferred), and the ability to lead cross‑functional projects with remote teams. Travel ~10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; Mechanical preferred.
• 4-7 years of industry experience in product design or NPIs.
• Experience designing injection molded and/or sheet metal parts.
• Design of experiments experience desirable.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize mechanical design solutions for new product development with strong technical evaluation.
• Create CAD models and 2D drawings for customers, analysis, patents, reports, and cost studies.
• Lead cross-functional teams and delegate CAD, prototyping, and testing tasks as needed.
• Collaborate across domestic and global locations to translate concepts into detailed designs.
