Job summary

Responsibilities include designing lenses and assemblies, optimizing optical trains, and driving manufacturability while ensuring schedules and quality goals are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Optics, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in optical engineering at a senior level.
• Proficiency with optical simulation tools such as Zemax or Code V.
• Experience with imaging or illumination systems and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop optical systems and components, including lenses and assemblies.
• Analyze and optimize optical trains to ensure high performance from source to sensor.
• Perform optical simulations with Zemax/Code V to refine system behavior.
• Evaluate performance, identify limitations, and implement design improvements.
• Troubleshoot optical performance issues and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for design-for-manufacturability and assembly.
