Job summary

AMETEK is seeking a Sr. Alignment Turning Machinist for its Special Optics team in Denville, NJ. The candidate will set up and operate alignment turning and CNC machines to produce optical components with micron-level precision. Candidates should have over 7 years of experience in CNC machining, a strong mechanical aptitude, and knowledge of lean manufacturing practices. This role offers competitive compensation, a range of $65,000 to $75,000 annually, and benefits including retirement and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 7+ years demonstrated CNC Machining and precision turning operations experience/competency.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances to micro-level; experience with ATS systems preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment/process issues.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate ATS / alignment turning equipment and precision CNC machines.
• Program, edit, and optimize CNC code (G-code / CAM).
• Troubleshoot machining, alignment, and fixturing issues.
