Job summary

Sika is seeking a Senior Operator in Falls Township, PA to execute daily production, meet safety and quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement. You will work with a team to ensure timely batch making, proper changeovers, packaging, and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated batch making competency in one or more Sika processes.
  • Approximately 1 year experience as a Sika Operator or extensive manufacturing experience.
  • Must read, write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Good math skills with fractions, decimals and percentages.
  • Ability to develop process expertise for troubleshooting.
  • Excellent attendance record; flexible to work any shift and overtime.
  • Self-motivated and able to establish effective working relationships.
  • Able to operate a forklift and other equipment as trained.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with safety, site security and environmental policies.
  • Maintain housekeeping objectives and clean work areas.
  • Execute production processes per quality guidelines and report variations.
  • Understand and attain the daily production schedule.
  • Ensure production processes achieve optimum rate of output.
  • Set up materials and equipment prior to batch making; assist with shift set-ups.
  • Complete SAP order confirmations accurately and timely; support SAP processes.
  • Perform batch making, packaging, product set-ups and changeovers as directed.
  • Operate and maintain equipment; assist in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Lead, assist and train new and temporary employees.
  • Participate in or support continuous improvement activities.
  • Handle other projects as directed by Management.

About the RoleThe Senior Operator is responsible for the timely execution of daily production requirements, achieving safety, housekeeping, quality and rate objectives and participating in continuous improvement activities as directed. The Senior Operator must be able to work independently within the framework of a team while demonstrating a positive attitude.Specific Responsibilities:To understand and comply with all Sika safety, site security and environmental policies.Achieve established housekeeping objectives adhering to established best practices and ensuring work areas are maintained and left in a clean and orderly fashion.To execute production processes according to established quality guidelines while reporting process variations in a timely fashion.To understand and attain the daily production schedule.To ensure that production processes achieve optimum rate-of-output.To ensure proper set-up of materials and good operating condition of the equipment prior to executing batch making processes and to assist as directed with the set-up for incoming shifts.Complete SAP order confirmations in an accurate and timely manner.
