Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee collections, container delivery and pickup for commercial, industrial and residential customers, leading a large team of dispatchers and drivers to execute the local market strategy.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Associate degree with relevant experience, including 5 years in transportation/logistics or solid waste operations with leadership responsibilities, plus strong problem-solving, communication and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher; or an Associate's degree with 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Legally eligible to work in the US; 5 years' experience in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations including coaching and leading employees.
• Excellent relationship management, listening, communication and problem-solving skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with OSHA/DEP/DEC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Forms and maintains relationships with community, environmental, and government groups to develop partnerships.
• Develops a productive workplace culture to manage performance and talent development.
• Oversees personnel needs including hiring, coaching, disciplining, training, and evaluating employees.
• Leads operations to ensure compliance with environmental, safety, regulatory, and ethics standards.
• Oversees safety programs to prevent injuries and foster a productive work environment.
• Manages labor hours and route systems for commercial, roll-off, and residential routes.
• Implements plans to maximize customer experience, growth and profitability within the unit.
• Provides leadership through clear goals, coaching, and access to development opportunities.
• Participates in training and aligns activities with company vision and core values.
• Ensures compliance with company, state, and federal employment and safety policies.
