Serving the retail, consumer electronics, home goods, industrial products, and healthcare sectors, the company combines operational expertise, responsive service, and continuous innovation to deliver reliable, customized logistics solutions that support business performance and growth.

About the Role:

iDC is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to lead high-volume, multi-shift operations spanning manufacturing and refurbishing, cross-dock and transloading, freight processing, warehousing, and outbound shipping. In this role, you will guide operations leaders and supervisors, translate business priorities into actionable operating plans, and drive results across safety, customer service, quality, productivity, and cost. You will develop leadership capability, align staffing and capacity with customer demand, and ensure shipments move on time, accurately, damage-free, and cost-effectively.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead day-to-day execution across a 24/7 operation, overseeing scheduling, unloading, processing, loading, shipping, housekeeping, and safe work practices.
  • Own customer service results against agreed service levels and key performance indicators (KPIs); lead business reviews and corrective actions to deliver timely, accurate, damage-free shipments.
  • Optimize labor deployment across shifts, managing cost per unit, units per hour, overtime, and staffing utilization against budget and service commitments.
  • Develop demand, staffing, capacity, and performance forecasts; prepare teams for peak volumes and implement contingency plans to maintain operational continuity.
  • Standardize operating procedures and lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, strengthen quality, improve efficiency, and deliver measurable return on investment.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop operations leaders and supervisors through performance management, succession planning, and consistent recognition practices.
  • Champion employee safety and well-being in partnership with Safety and HR, supporting training, incident prevention, root-cause reviews, and timely corrective actions.
  • Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and cross-shift collaboration through clear expectations, effective communication, and consistent follow-through.
  • Partner with Customer Service, Transportation, Maintenance, and other support teams to remove constraints and sustain end-to-end service quality.
  • Develop and manage the assigned operating budget, analyze financial variances, recommend capital investments, and execute cost-reduction and accident-prevention plans.
  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly operating reviews, using dashboards to communicate results, trends, risks, corrective actions, and resource needs to senior leadership.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for service disruptions, leading customer communication, root-cause analysis, and recovery plans that prevent recurrence.
What You Bring:
  • At least eight years of progressive supervisory or management experience in a high-volume warehouse, cross-dock, transloading, distribution, manufacturing, or similar environment, including at least three years leading supervisors or managers across multiple shifts.
  • Experience managing operating budgets, analyzing financial variances, planning labor and capacity, developing capital improvement business cases, and delivering measurable cost and productivity improvements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead customer business reviews and present operational and financial results to senior leadership.
  • A demonstrated ability to develop operations leaders, lead cross-functional initiatives, and build collaborative relationships with customers and colleagues at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel-based operational analysis, and the ability to translate system data into actionable KPIs. Experience with Warehouse Management and Yard Management Systems is desirable.
  • A bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills for Success:
  • A customer-first approach and the ability to quickly learn complex operations while working effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong organization, planning, and time management skills, with close attention to detail and the ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Effective leadership, relationship management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability and sound prioritization as business needs shift in a fast-paced operating environment.
