Job description

Senior Operations Manager at Swing Left & Vote Forward

Position Type: Full-Time Employee (Exempt)

End date: January 29, 2027, with possibility of extension

Location: Remote (US)

Reports to: Director of People Operations

ABOUT SWING LEFT

Swing Left ’s mission is simple: we make it easy for people to maximize their impact on the most competitive elections to help Democrats win. Since launching in 2017, Swing Left’s one million members have raised more than $140 million for Democratic candidates, civic organizations, and voter mobilization efforts, and engaged more than 50 million voters door-to-door, by phone, and through handwritten letters. What makes us different:

  • Swing Left is singularly focused on directing grassroots time and money to help Democrats win close races that will determine the balance of power in our government, from the White House to key state houses.
  • We use data and technology to increase volunteer and donor impact by driving the right resources to the right campaigns, at the right time.
  • We put people first, delivering a member experience focused on strategic action, not noise—no spam emails, texts, or doomsday messaging.

About Vote Forward

At Vote Forward , we envision a country where every American receives the support they need to participate in democracy—and where every volunteer can take proven actions to strengthen it. We partner with volunteers on evidence-driven, high-impact actions that build trust in government and increase voter participation.

Every cycle, Vote Forward rigorously measures the effectiveness of our voter turnout and civic engagement programs. We pioneered the discovery that handwritten letters can significantly boost voter turnout, and then massively scaled use of the tactic while continuing to test and refine it. Since launching in 2017, we’ve written over 40 million letters to voters with the help of over 285,000 volunteers and numerous nonprofit, political, and corporate partners ranging from Patagonia to Daily Kos to the Milwaukee Bucks and more. Recently, we evolved from a letter-writing program into a hub for volunteer-driven actions that strengthen our democracy.

The majority of our work is nonpartisan, supporting our core 501c(3) and 501c(4) social-welfare mission. We also support 501(c)(4) activities to encourage likely-Democratic voters to turn out in strategic elections. Vote Forward is affiliated with Swing Left.
