Job description

Deliver independent, risk-based challenge and second-line risk management support aligned with the Operational Risk Management Framework, applicable policies, regulatory expectations, and industry standards
Assess risks, threats, and opportunities related to evolving technologies, customer-facing digital channels, data-driven decisioning, emerging business models, technology-enabled process risk, third-party dependencies, data and model risk intersections, resilience, and change management risk
Develop and deliver complex operational risk analyses and analytical reports
Prepare, review, and present risk opinions and materials for senior management and risk governance forums
Perform independent oversight, critical review, and challenge of risk identification, assessment, monitoring, mitigation, and reporting
Conduct gap, control, and root cause assessments; evaluate risk remediation plans and elevate identified gaps and concerns
Guide and support first-line implementation of the Operational Risk Management Framework and monitor execution
Assess issues, control failures, and policy breaches; evaluate root-cause analysis and remediation effectiveness
Deliver objective insights to improve business risk management and control practices
Collaborate with first- and second-line partners, including technology risk, compliance, model risk, and other risk functions
Monitor emerging risks, industry trends, and regulatory developments
Support change initiatives, internal control standards, audit remediation, and regulatory remediation efforts
Report to an Operational Risk Senior Manager

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and five years' experience in risk, compliance, legal, audit, or other relevant function, OR in lieu of degree, a combined minimum of nine years' higher education and/or work experience including five years' experience in risk, compliance, legal, audit, or other relevant function
• Proficient computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
• Analytical skills with strong written and verbal communications with all levels of management
• Working knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards for Operational Risk Management
• Ability to work in-office four days a week
• No direct management experience required; may provide guidance to others
