Job summary

Justice Resource Institute (JRI) seeks an Operational Risk Specialist to lead investigations, strengthen operational controls, and mitigate organizational risk across MA, RI, and CT.

In this role, you will collaborate with senior leaders, legal teams, and stakeholders to design and implement risk management programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and safeguard mission-driven services for underserved populations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychiatry, business, finance, or related field; Master’s strongly preferred.
• 8+ years in the relevant industry with 5+ years in leadership or senior management.
• Background in investigations, operations, risk management, or similar field.
• Strong knowledge of MA/CT/RI laws, regulations, and policies.
• Strategic thinking with ability to advise senior management and site leadership.
• Proficient use of Excel and data collection platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support for investigations, operations, and risk mitigation aligned with JRI mission and policy standards.
• Lead internal and external investigations related to report treatment and policy violations.
• Ensure investigations maintain integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with licensing requirements.
• Assist implementation of organizational risk mitigation programs across the organization.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and departments to support investigative and operational requirements.
• Help establish strategies to mitigate safety risks within the organization.
