Job summary

Baxter International Inc. is seeking a Principal Engineer, Operational Excellence to lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and operations.

You will apply Lean and Six Sigma, drive efficiency, improve product quality, and mentor teams in OpEx methodologies. Responsibilities include leading CI programs, managing OpEx projects end-to-end, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, or manufacturing.
• 7+ years in CI, process engineering, or operations management; healthcare/medical device preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred.
• Experience with quality management systems and regulatory requirements for medical devices.
• Strong data-driven approach; proficient with statistical tools (Minitab/JMP).

Responsibilities

• Lead CI initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Develop and implement Lean/Six Sigma strategies to meet organizational goals.
• Support Lean Daily Management systems across the organization.
• Manage OpEx projects from inception to completion with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze data and report performance improvements to senior management.
• Provide training and mentorship on Lean/OpEx methodologies.
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, production to embed CI in daily operations.
• Ensure CI activities comply with FDA, ISO 13485, and other regulations.
