Job summary

Baxter is seeking a Principal Engineer, Operational Excellence to lead Lean/Six Sigma driven improvements across manufacturing and operations. You will guide CI strategy, mentor teams, and ensure regulatory alignment while delivering measurable performance gains.

The role requires strong data analysis, project leadership, and collaboration with engineering, QA, and production to sustain improvements and regulatory compliance. Base salary is competitive with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing; a master's degree is preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in continuous improvement, process engineering, or operations management, preferably in medical device or healthcare.
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt or Master Black Belt) or equivalent.
• Experience with quality management systems and regulatory requirements in the medical device industry.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis software and tools (Minitab, JMP).
• Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
• Strong project management skills to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and operations to boost efficiency and quality.
• Develop and implement CI strategies, including Lean and Six Sigma, to meet goals.
• Implement Lean Daily Management System processes throughout the organization.
• Manage OpEx projects from inception to completion with clear milestones.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and define scope.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends and root causes for improvements.
• Prepare reports on OpEx outcomes for senior management and stakeholders.
• Provide training and mentorship on Lean/OpEx methods and run Kaizen events.
• Ensure CI work integrates with engineering, QA, and production daily.
