Job summary

RGP in Mountain View, CA is seeking an Operational Accounting Consultant to drive month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You will work independently in a fast-paced environment and partner with Finance, Operations, and external auditors.

The role emphasizes process improvement, accuracy, and timely delivery, with strong GAAP knowledge, ERP experience (SAP/Oracle), advanced Excel, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8–15 years of experience in operational or corporate accounting, with month-end close.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, financial reporting, and close processes.
• Ability to ramp quickly in an ambiguous environment and work independently.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Google Workspace and MS Office.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Global company experience and high-tech industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Perform variance analysis and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
• Support monthly financial reporting and performance analysis.
• Assist year-end close and audit activities with timely responses to inquiries.
• Help maintain internal controls over financial reporting and drive process improvements.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and business teams to obtain information.
