Job summary

A leading consulting firm in Texas is seeking a Staff Accounting Consultant to support the month-end close process and ensure compliance with US GAAP. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial reports, and implementing process improvements. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience, and a variety of workplace arrangements are available, including hybrid and remote options.

Qualifications

• 0-5 years of related experience required.
• Public accounting, consulting or industry experience preferred.
• Knowledge of US GAAP required.

Job description

As a Staff Accounting Consultant, you will support the month-end close process, perform financial reporting and audit compliance, and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.

What you will work on

• Support month-end close process, including maintaining the general ledger and sub-ledgers, reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations and analyzing account variances
• Communicate and follow up with business partners to ensure that open/outstanding issues are resolved in a timely manner
• Ensure appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with US GAAP
• Support in the preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly reports, as well as the review of policies and procedures to ensure SOX compliance, etc.
• Help identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements

What you will bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
• Master’s Degree preferred
• CPA, CMA, CIA or CFE preferred
• 0-5+ years of related experience
• Public accounting, related consulting or industry experience preferred
• Knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience with large ERP systems and strong MS Office technical skills, specifically with MS Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills, with a strong orientation to client service, time management, and project delivery
