Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a Senior Accountant to support general ledger, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal control compliance. You will partner with finance, operations, and business teams to ensure accurate data and drive process improvements.

The role requires 3–5 years of accounting experience, a strong GAAP background, and ERP proficiency. CPA is preferred. Join a company that values integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience in public or corporate accounting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite or similar.
• Advanced Excel skills; pivot tables, lookup formulas, complex calculations.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and reconciliations for month-end and quarter-end close.
• Analyze general ledger activity and investigate variances and reconciling items.
• Support financial statements, management reporting packages, and internal reporting.
• Maintain accounting records in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting including capitalization and depreciation.
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions across entities as applicable.
• Support audit requests with schedules, documentation, and explanations.
• Ensure internal controls and SOX compliance where applicable.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, close timelines, and reporting accuracy.
• Collaborate with FP&A, operations, tax, treasury and other teams on accounting conclusions.
