Qualifications

• Two years of experience or training in the operation or maintenance of large stationary engines or mechanical equipment.
• EPA refrigerant recycling and recovery certification (Section 608) required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on boilers and related equipment such as ventilating and refrigeration equipment, air conditioning machinery, generators, suction fans, pumps, and compressors.
• Maintains a logbook detailing the operation of boilers and pumping equipment and lists any maintenance work performed.
• Starts and stops pumps.
• Fires gas or oil fired boilers.
• Adjusts fuel and airflow.
• Regulates water level.
• Reads gauges to check water level, steam pressure, and operation of valves and auxiliary pumps.
• Performs minor repairs on boilers and related equipment.
• Oversees wastewater treatment.
• Ensures that pump station is properly maintained.
