Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Senior Lead Engineer, Software to drive OpenBMC platform management for high-performance networking and compute platforms in San Jose. You will work upstream-first on the Linux Foundation OpenBMC codebase, delivering Redfish-based remote management, firmware update flows, and telemetry integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with OpenBMC and platform management concepts.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions for OpenBMC-based platform management.
• Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers.
• Own platform enablement on OpenBMC stack, including Yocto meta-layers, U-Boot and kernel porting.
• Develop and maintain remote management interfaces, with Redfish as the primary API.
• Develop platform management capabilities across power control, FRU inventory, sensor telemetry, thermal and fan control, and event logging.
• Deliver firmware update flows with versioning, verification, and event logging.
• Review, interpret and negotiate customer requirements/specifications and ensure quality of deliverables.
• Work with hardware engineers on board bring-up and with manufacturing teams for product qualification.
• Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites using upstream OpenBMC test framework.
