Job summary

OceanaGold Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to oversee Technical Services planning and pit design. You will drive short- and long-range plans, supervise planning staff, and coordinate with operations to optimize ore extraction while maintaining safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years mining experience; 8+ years preferred with open-pit exposure.
• Demonstrates commitment to health, safety and environmental standards (MSHA/HSEC).
• Deswik software proficiency is a plus; strong IT/computer skills with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support Technical Services planning groups for short and long-range mine planning.
• Lead design of pits, drill and blast patterns using advanced mining practices.
• Manage daily/weekly/quarterly mine and dump plans and maintain design databases.
• Collaborate with mine operations to meet plan requirements and improve production efficiency.
• Promote safety and development of team members in a high-hazard environment.
