Job summary

OceanaGold is seeking an experienced professional to lead and support Technical Services planning for open-pit mining at our Haile operation and other sites. You will drive short- and long-range mine planning, design standardization, and calibration of drill and blast patterns to maximize ore recovery while maintaining safety and cost controls.

The role requires strong leadership, a track record in open-pit mining, and expertise with Deswik and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from an accredited university.
• 5 years minimum, 8+ years preferred mining experience with at least 5 years in open pit gold mining.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support technical services planning groups for short and long-range mine design and drill/blast planning.
• Lead safe, timely execution of open-pit mining functions and compliance with safety standards.
• Develop and monitor daily/weekly/three-month mine and dump plans, maximizing efficiency within the long-range plan.
• Maintain design databases and standardize design processes; collaborate with mine operations for plan alignment.
• Improve use of mining software and explore new technical solutions to production planning.
• Monitor plans to ensure critical path targets are achieved and ore recovery is maximized.

Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering
