Job summary

OceanaGold seeks a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to oversee Technical Services planning for short and long-range pit designs, drill and blast patterns, ensuring safe, timely execution in an open-pit environment at Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina.

Role involves leading development goals, succession planning, and managing daily to rolling monthly mine plans, maintaining design databases, and coordinating with mine operations to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years mining experience; 8+ years preferred with at least 5 years in gold open-pit environments.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support Technical Services planning groups for short and long-range pit designs and drill & blast patterns.
• Provide leadership to enable zero-harm and professional development within the team.
• Produce daily, weekly, and rolling 3-month mine and dump plans and optimize efficiency.
• Maintain the design database and collaborate with mine operations to meet monthly targets.
