Job summary

GHX is seeking a senior ontology engineer to design and maintain canonical and source ontologies, align with governance, and build LLM-assisted extraction pipelines. You will author OWL 2 axioms, validate with reasoners, and ensure provenance in mappings.

The role requires experience with SPARQL, Cypher, Protege, ROBOT, SHACL, and data integration, plus collaboration with data quality engineers and product teams to support transactional, clinical, and analytical needs.

Qualifications

• Greater than 4 years of experience in knowledge engineering, ontology development, or a closely related formal methods discipline.
• Experience building and maintaining domain ontologies with reasoner-validated consistency (Protege preferred).
• Experience with ROBOT or ODK for ontology lifecycle management and automated quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the ontology across canonical, source, and process layers.
• Establish mappings with provenance and validity conditions for cross-system records.
• Author OWL 2 axioms and validate consistency with reasoners; manage ontology lifecycle.
