Job summary

Hatch Ltd. in Pittsburgh is seeking a Senior Safety Advisor to lead health and safety on major construction projects across the USA region. You will develop and implement safety programs, conduct risk assessments and incident investigations, and promote a culture of zero harm on site.

Collaborate with project teams to ensure regulatory compliance (MSHA) and drive safety training and leadership. This role supports USA operations within a global engineering group and offers growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in health and safety, with at least five years on-site experience on major construction projects.
• Experienced working with MSHA Regulations on USA Mine sites.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• A high level of computer skills.
• A high level of organizational skills.
• A passion for continual improvement of project health and safety performance.
• Ability to lead and motivate on site project teams in health and safety.
• Member of a recognized health and safety professional organization.
• Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, strategies and problem solving to project personnel on all health and safety issues to achieve the goal of ‘no harm’ during the project.
• Promote a culture where health and safety is a value that will never be compromised.
• Develop and implement the project health and safety policy, safety management plan and standards in line with Hatch safety management system.
• Ensure inclusion of health and safety in Safety Management Plans and project kickoff.
• Lead and deliver safety programs such as WTS, VDS, VFL, and CSLP on projects.
• Assist with precontract, tender assessment and contract administration for health and safety requirements.
• Review and approve contractor’s safety management plans and SOPs before work commences.
• Coordinate and submit project weekly health and safety leading indicators and information reports.
• Prepare, implement and review project emergency response plans and safety training programs.
