Key responsibilities include advising on health and safety strategies to achieve no-harm goals, developing project safety management plans, coordinating training, reviewing contractor safety plans, and leading incident investigations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in health and safety on major construction projects.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• A high level of computer skills.
• A high level of organizational skills.
• A passion for continual improvement of project health and safety performance.
• Ability to lead and motivate office and project teams in health and safety.
• Must be willing to travel.
• BS Safety Management or related field is Preferred.
• Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, strategies and problem solving on all health and safety issues to achieve our goal of ‘no harm’.
• Promote a culture where health and safety is a value that will never be compromised.
• Implement the organization’s health and safety policy, safety management planning requirements and standards.
• Prepare a Project Specific Safety Management Plan.
• Manage the identification of health and safety training needs for personnel, including project staff and contractors.
• Delivery and rollout safety training to include competency and behavior-based leadership training.
• Review and approve contractor’s safety management plans and safe operating procedures before work commences.
• Define local statutory and regulatory requirements and communicate with the office leadership team.
• Lead hazard analysis and risk assessment across all disciplines.
• Lead incident investigations and reporting.
• Measure corrective actions from health and safety audits and investigations.
• Develop and coordinate health and safety reporting to leadership teams.
• Prepare and review office and project emergency response plans.
