Job summary

Chewy's SmartPak operation in Plymouth, MA seeks an Automated Lead Maintenance Technician to maintain and improve automated material handling systems, conveyors, and production equipment on site. This senior‑level technician leads on shift, mentors others, and partners with engineering and facilities to maximize uptime and reliability.

You will troubleshoot complex electrical and control systems, document work in CMMS, and support installation and commissioning of new assets while maintaining

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance or related experience.
• Experience troubleshooting automated material handling equipment.
• Strong electrical, mechanical, and maintenance knowledge.
• Experience reading schematics and technical docs.
• Experience with CMMS and PLC systems.
• Ability to mentor technicians and lead on shift safety and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automated equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system failures.
• Act as primary technical resource, coaching technicians during complex repairs.
• Mentor less experienced staff and share maintenance best practices.
• Support maintenance planning and reliability-centered maintenance activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot motors, sensors, relays, PLC-controlled equipment, and automation.
• Maintain AutoStore robotic systems and related equipment.
• Document work orders, downtime, parts, and actions in CMMS.
