Placements24 is seeking a Senior Online Course Facilitator to guide and support learners through online courses. This fully remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa and requires strong communication, pedagogy, and interpersonal skills to foster learner success.

You will collaborate with course designers and instructional technologists, monitor progress, provide feedback, and help improve course delivery and learner support.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education or Adult Education.
• Minimum of 6 years of online teaching or facilitation.
• Experience guiding adult online learners and fostering engagement.
• Strong knowledge of LMS platforms (Moodle/Canvas/Blackboard).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate online courses with active learner engagement.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback on assignments.
• Respond to learner inquiries and provide academic support.
• Collaborate with instructional designers to improve content.

About the Role

Our client is a leading provider of online professional development courses and is seeking an experienced Senior Online Course Facilitator to join their dedicated team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from any location within South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding and supporting learners through their online educational journey, fostering engagement, and ensuring a positive learning experience. This role requires exceptional communication, pedagogical, and interpersonal skills, coupled with a passion for online education and student success. You will work closely with course designers and instructional technologists to continually improve course delivery and learner support mechanisms. Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate online courses, engaging learners through discussion forums, live sessions, and personalized feedback.
• Monitor learner progress and provide timely, constructive, and supportive feedback on assignments and activities.
• Respond to learner inquiries and provide academic support, fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.
• Collaborate with instructional designers to refine course content and delivery methods based on learner feedback and performance data.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase learner retention and completion rates.
• Moderate online discussions, encouraging active participation and peer-to-peer learning.
• Identify and report on common learner challenges and suggest solutions to improve the online learning experience.
• Assist in the development and delivery of onboarding materials for new online learners.
• Maintain accurate records of learner engagement and progress.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of online course delivery and support services.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Education, Adult Education, or a relevant subject matter field.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in online teaching, facilitation, or academic support.
• Demonstrated experience in facilitating adult learners in an online environment.
• Strong understanding of online learning pedagogy and student engagement strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for empathetic and clear communication.
• Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard) and online collaboration tools.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
• Experience in providing academic advising or coaching is advantageous.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and learner support.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
