Job summary

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Erie, PA, is seeking a Sr. Practice Manager to lead a busy Medical Oncology practice.

The role oversees day-to-day operations, staffing, and patient experience for a team of about 30 direct reports, working with physicians and a Nurse Manager. The ideal candidate brings healthcare leadership experience, strong operational and financial skills, and a track record of enhancing patient access and care quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3 years of management experience and 1 year in healthcare
• Associate's degree with 3 years healthcare experience and 3 years management experience
• High School Diploma with 5 years healthcare experience and 5 years of management experience

Responsibilities

• Ensure staffing through strategic placement of office coordinators and managers.
• Supervise and oversee practice budgets.
• Develop and maintain a patient-centric culture focused on arrival and follow-up activities.
• Serve as liaison to UPMC departments and resources.
• Coordinate renovations and building utilization with UPMC and external services.
• Develop strategic plans for practices.
• Monitor operations to identify improvements and new markets.
• Ensure compliance with all UPMC policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with staff, physicians and peers.
• Assist in due diligence, valuations, contracts, and staffing as required.
• Assist in physician relations as necessary.
• Maintain knowledge initiatives related to practice operations.
• Oversee recruitment of staff and new practices.
• Review and improve procedures to enhance office operations.
• Monitor benchmarks for patient access and scheduling.
