Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue seeks a Health System Pharmacist - Level III (Oncology) to manage medication therapy within an interdisciplinary team. The role includes supervising pharmacy staff and coordinating unit operations.

Responsibilities cover drug information, patient counseling, and participation in quality programs, with shifts from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid NY State license to practice pharmacy.
• Two years of post licensure experience; or completion of a post graduate residency or fellowship; or current Pharmacy Board Certification.
• One year of post licensure supervisory or specialty clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Fills prescriptions and patient orders, resolves discrepancies in patient therapy, and follows-up on problems.
• Evaluates physician orders to ensure appropriate therapy.
• Provides and documents drug information and patient counseling.
• Directs and utilizes staff in the pharmacy unit.
• Operates and troubleshoots automated dispensing systems.
• Advises prescribers on alternatives for non-formulary drugs.
• Participates in quality management and utilization review programs.
