Job summary

TAG MedStaffing is seeking an Oncology Pharmacist in Westchester County, NY to support oncology pharmacy services, chemotherapy management, infusion care, and safe medication dispensing within a hospital setting.

The pharmacist will partner with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff to ensure safe, effective cancer care, oversee infusion operations, and contribute to medication safety initiatives in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
• Active New York State Pharmacist license is required.
• BCOP or equivalent oncology certification preferred.
• 2–3 years hospital pharmacy experience required; oncology/infusion experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of oncology pharmacotherapy, chemotherapy, IV meds, safety, and regulations.
• Proficiency with hospital pharmacy systems, electronic records, and order verification.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and dispense oncology medications per treatment plans.
• Evaluate orders, patient profiles, dosing, interactions for safe therapy.
• Provide chemotherapy/infusion therapy support and IV med expertise.
• Support medication education, infection prevention, and quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff to optimize care.
• Support daily pharmacy workflow and supervision of support staff.

Job Overview – Oncology Pharmacist
Compensation: $65 – $95/hour (Dependent on Experience)
Location: Westchester County, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday(Alternating Weekends and Holidays)

TAG MedStaffing is hiring an Oncology Pharmacist in Westchester County, NY for our client, supporting oncology pharmacy services, chemotherapy medication management, infusion care, and safe medication dispensing. The Oncology Pharmacist will collaborate with physicians, nursing teams, and pharmacy staff to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care for hematology and oncology patients. This role also supports IV pharmacy operations and medication safety initiatives within a hospital-based environment.

Responsibilities as the Oncology Pharmacist:

• Oncology Pharmacy: Review, verify, and dispense oncology medications in accordance with patient‑specific treatment plans and established pharmacy standards.
• Clinical Review: Evaluate medication orders, patient profiles, dosing, interactions, and treatment considerations to promote safe and effective therapy.
• Infusion Support: Provide pharmacy expertise for chemotherapy, infusion therapies, IV medications, and other specialized oncology treatments.
• Patient Safety: Support medication education, infection prevention, quality improvement, and safe handling practices for oncology therapies.
• Clinical Collaboration: Partner with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to address medication‑related needs and optimize patient care.
• Pharmacy Operations: Support daily pharmacy workflow, provide staff pharmacist coverage as needed, and oversee pharmacy support personnel.

Qualifications for the Oncology Pharmacist:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required, with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.
• Licensure: Active New York State Pharmacist license is required.
• Certification: Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) or equivalent oncology pharmacy certification is preferred.
• Experience: 2–3 years of hospital pharmacy experience is required, with hematology, oncology, chemotherapy, or infusion center experience preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of oncology pharmacotherapy, chemotherapy, IV medications, medication safety, pharmaceutical calculations, and applicable pharmacy regulations is required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with hospital pharmacy systems, electronic medication records, medication order verification, and clinical documentation is required.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical judgment, communication, attention to detail, organization, problem‑solving, collaboration, adaptability, and ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced clinical environment are required.
