Job summary

Artheon in Neptune, NJ is seeking a Civil/CEI professional to lead field inspections on heavy highway projects. You will monitor contractor operations, verify conformance with plans, and act as the on-site highway inspector for work performed by contractors and subcontractors.

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred; NICET Level III in Highway Construction is required along with multiple certifications (ACI, TCC, CCTC, NJSAT).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• NICET Level III in Highway Construction certification required.
• ACI, TCC, CCTC, and NJSAT certifications required.
• 5+ years of experience in heavy highway/bridge construction inspection.
• Experience with NJDOT / NJTA projects required.
• OSHA 10-hour safety course required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors contractor operations and verifies conformance with project plans and specifications.
• Serves as the on-site highway inspector for construction work performed by contractors and subcontractors.
• Interacts with site supervision to ensure compliance with construction contract requirements.
• Prepares daily reports, correspondence, change orders, payment estimates, and quantity computations.
• Observes and documents work details and photographs; ensures documentation integrity.
• Confirms compliance with technical documents and industry standards and codes.
• Reviews and downloads field data to company servers for record-keeping.
• Discusses projects with the project team on a daily basis.
• Makes accurate judgments on field activities; may work night shifts and weekends as required.
