Job summary

Elliptic is seeking a Senior Cryptocurrency Intelligence Scientist to advance on-chain attribution and threat characterisation. You will lead data-driven investigations, drive intelligence collection priorities, and mentor the team while collaborating with public-sector partners and the crypto industry.

You’ll own end-to-end research, develop scalable heuristics, and translate complex findings into actionable insights for clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of data science fundamentals with SQL and Python.
• Expert proficiency across blockchains (L1/L2) and cross-chain attribution.
• Intelligence professional with cognitive bias awareness and structured analytic techniques.
• Excellent communication to convey complex topics to diverse audiences.
• Ability to obtain security clearance in the UK or US.
• AI fluency to apply AI tools to intelligence analysis workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own expert understanding of identity signals to characterize on-chain threats.
• Lead end-to-end research and investigations from scoping to written output.
• Evaluate attribution coverage and drive remediation priorities.
• Develop tooling and processes for heuristic development with peer review.
• Maintain an informed view of crypto threats and translate into intelligence priorities.
• Summarise conclusions into reports, briefings, and client-ready content.
• Collaborate with Principal Scientist and Professional Services to deliver intelligence.
• Build relationships across Elliptic and the wider blockchain intelligence community.
• Coach and mentor junior colleagues to raise intelligence practice standards.
