Job summary

Elliptic is seeking a Senior Cryptocurrency Intelligence Scientist to join our Intelligence team, delving into on-chain attribution and threat characterisation. You will drive research, data collection, and rigorous analysis to strengthen our intelligence dataset used by financial institutions, exchanges, and government agencies.

You will mentor colleagues, collaborate across functions, and translate complex findings into actionable intelligence for public-sector partners and the broader crypto

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of data science fundamentals and ability to automate analytical workflows.
• Expert proficiency across multiple blockchains with experience bridging assets and self-custodying cryptocurrency.
• Ability to apply cognitive biases, structured analytic techniques, and communicate uncertainty clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own an expert understanding of identity and non-identity signals on-chain.
• Lead end-to-end research and investigations from scoping to written output for clients and partners.
• Evaluate attribution coverage and prioritise intelligence collection efforts across threat areas.
• Develop processes and tooling to empower analysts and data scientists, including documentation and reviews.
• Maintain a well-evidenced view of cryptocurrency evolution and emerging obfuscation techniques.
• Summarise conclusions into reports, briefings, and marketing content for target audiences.
• Collaborate with Principal Scientist and Professional Services to deliver actionable intelligence.
• Coach and mentor junior colleagues to uphold high intelligence practices.
