Job summary

Heartflow is seeking a Staff Application Database Architect to own OLTP databases powering clinical and operational platforms. You will design schemas, tune queries, and optimize performance in Python/Django services.

You will lead data modeling across patients, studies, results, and devices, ensure HIPAA/GDPR compliance, and collaborate with SRE and analytics teams. A strong background in healthcare data and cloud platforms is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of backend/database experience building OLTP systems for production web apps.
• Experience with healthcare data standards (FHIR/HL7/DICOM) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build & own OLTP database systems for clinical and operational apps.
• Drive app data access strategies with Python/Django ORM & SQLAlchemy.
• Own database performance, uptime, backups, and incident response.
