Job summary

Healthie is seeking a senior data engineer to lead the design, development, and scaling of the data warehouse and analytics platform. You will own architecture for isolation models, warehouse pipelines, and provisioning infrastructure, enabling secure, scalable access to customer data in a shared warehouse.

You will collaborate with product and analytics teams to build models and dashboards, automate data quality, observability, and compliance, and drive reliability across HIPAA-regulated data

Qualifications

• 6+ years of engineering experience spanning data and infrastructure.
• Proficient in SQL and relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL and Snowflake.
• Experience with database-level access control implementations, such as row-level or column-level security and RBAC.
• Production data pipeline management experience, including CDC failure diagnosis, schema drift, and troubleshooting bad upstream values.
• Fluency in Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Experience collaborating with non-engineering teams on reporting models.
• Automating skills in scripting languages, with Ruby and SQL preferred.
• Construction of reusable, automated tools for business scalability.
• Prioritization of data quality, observability, and compliance in systems.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience with HIPAA-regulated data preferred.
• Familiarity with dbt, Metabase, Kafka/Debezium, or AWS data infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and scaling of the data warehouse and analytics platform.
• Manage architecture and implementation of isolation model, warehouse pipelines, and provisioning infrastructure.
• Ensure customers have ad-hoc query access to their own data within a shared warehouse.
• Partner with internal teams to build models and dashboards.
