Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Hardware Engineering in Cupertino seeks a Sr Hardware Dev Engineer to lead SSD integration from OEMs and manage large-scale storage deployments. You will design, validate, and optimize hardware solutions for high-performance server storage in a cloud environment.

You will collaborate with AWS software teams to implement novel technologies, improve reliability, and reduce cost while delivering world‑class customer experiences.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience with root‑cause, debug and resolution of issues on storage systems in a Linux environment.
• Experience with system integration and operation of SSDs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the OEM Solid State Drives engineering team to bring new storage (SSD) technology to our systems and products, and scale operations of our massive existing fleet.
• Work closely with software engineers in AWS and other teams to drive operational excellence by building software services for optimizing SSD performance and health at scale, including faster detection, prevention, and root‑cause analysis of issues.
• Lead the integration and delivery of SSD from OEM suppliers, and support the rollout of new drives for new and existing platforms.
