The City of Austin's Animal Services department is seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Senior to develop, administer, and implement the department's safety program and training initiatives.

You will lead accident investigations, hazard analyses, safety audits, driver safety actions, and periodic drills; collaborate with leadership, and ensure compliance with OSHA and related regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two (2) years of experience; substitution allowed up to four (4) years.
• Experience may substitute for education up to the maximum of four (4) years.
• Valid Texas Driver License; licensing for specific disciplines may be required.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and ordinances related to occupational safety.

Responsabilités

• Develops, administers, and implements the departmental safety program.
• Conducts safety meetings and presents safety topics; prepares training materials and documentation.
• Administers, develops, and reviews safety plans; investigates work-related accidents.
• Identifies trends and recommends new safety programs to reduce incidents.
• Audits compliance with Federal, State, and Local safety regulations; writes safety policies.
