Job summary

Temporal is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead Observability Engineering, guiding the telemetry platform used by some of the world's largest workloads. You will shape architecture, drive reliability, and build a high-ownership team.

This role requires hands-on leadership, deep knowledge of metrics, traces, and logs, and the ability to translate customer feedback into a roadmap that improves reliability and cost efficiency across a multi‑tenant platform.

Qualifications

Experience leading production observability platforms at scale.
Strong ownership of live-site reliability.
Proven ability to hire, coach, and manage teams.
Excellent cross-functional collaboration with product and security.

Responsibilities

Own the observability roadmap and platform delivery across multi-cloud environments.
Lead, hire, and grow a high-ownership engineering team.
Oversee ingestion, storage, query, and visualization for telemetry data.
Drive incident response tooling, on-call practices, and postmortem process.
Collaborate with product, design, and customers to shape the roadmap.
Manage unit economics and vendor relationships for observability costs.
