Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Observability Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate large-scale observability services using Go, Python, and Java. You will drive OpenTelemetry adoption and shape a self-service observability ecosystem across CVS Health environments spanning on-prem, hybrid, and multiple clouds.

You will partner with SRE, Cloud, CI/CD, and Infrastructure teams to ensure reliable, secure, and cost-efficient observability at scale while delivering high-performing backend

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering experience.
3+ years observability, SLOs/SLIs/SLAs, alerting, incident management.
3+ years backend services in Go and/or Java.
2+ years with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
2+ years with Grafana or similar observability backends.

Responsibilities

Develop and operate large-scale observability services.
Lead OpenTelemetry adoption across the enterprise.
Design and scale high-throughput telemetry pipelines (logs, metrics, traces).
Collaborate with SRE, Cloud, CI/CD and security teams.
Mentor engineers, lead incident reviews, and ensure secure pipelines.
