Job summary

Talanto is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Observability team in San Mateo, CA. You will own the end-to-end observability stack, shape the roadmap with business partners, and ensure scalable, reliable data pipelines that handle billions of time series and PBs of logs daily.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to open source, and evaluate new AI-driven tools for incident detection. This hybrid role requires in-office presence Tue-Thu at our HQ.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building, maintaining, and evolving large-scale distributed systems.
• End-to-end ownership of high-availability services.
• Open source contributions and AI-based incident detection are a plus.
• BS in Computer Science; master's degree or higher is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define vision and roadmap with business partners, and lead end-to-end project execution.
• Take full ownership of the existing observability infrastructure, ensuring it is scalable and reliable, with new features.
• Architect next-generation Observability infrastructures to handle tens of billions of time series and PBs of logs and traces daily.
• Follow and expand our vision to put the community first and get things done.
• Hybrid role located in San Mateo HQ; in-office 3 days a week (Tue-Thu).
