Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an Observability Engineer for a 100% remote position in the United States. The role focuses on designing and operating the full observability stack, including metrics, logs, traces, and dashboards, to drive reliability and ROI across cloud-based systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Ten+ years of experience in SRE, platform engineering, or observability roles.
• Deep hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and at least one major commercial observability platform (Datadog/New Relic/Splunk).

Responsibilities

• Design and operate enterprise-grade observability platforms (metrics, logs, traces, events, and synthetic monitoring).
• Architect deployments of Prometheus, Thanos, Mimir, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog for high availability and scale.
• Develop standards for instrumentation, including OpenTelemetry adoption and logging conventions.
• Define and enforce SLOs/SLIs and build dashboards and alerts to operationalize them.
• Lead cost management and reduce noise with effective alerting and on-call processes.
• Mentor teams on observability fundamentals and runbooks.
