Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Senior Observability Systems Engineer to enhance reliability and visibility across enterprise services. You will work hands-on with Dynatrace and ThousandEyes, build automation with Terraform, and collaborate with application, cloud, network, and security teams to improve monitoring and incident response.

The role emphasizes platform engineering, DevOps practices, and observability expertise with hybrid work and on-site duties at Mass General Brigham facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience as a systems engineer or in a related technical engineering role.
• Hands-on experience with Dynatrace and automation tooling.
• Experience using Terraform and CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise).

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and optimize enterprise observability platforms (Dynatrace, ThousandEyes).
• Build and maintain dashboards, alerts, and tests to aid troubleshooting.
• Develop configuration‑as‑code with Terraform and manage pipelines in Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise.
• Create and maintain Dynatrace extensions to expand monitoring coverage.
• Implement observability for DevOps frameworks in Azure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Onboard apps and infrastructure to observability platforms with instrumentation and validation.
• Automate alerting and remediation to reduce MTTR and boost uptime.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to apply observability standards.
• Create user documentation and best practices for monitoring tools.
• Use standard work and change management to deliver reliable work.
