Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT environments focusing on observability, monitoring strategy, telemetry, and operational visibility.
• Proficiency in two or more observability/monitoring platforms (e.g., Dynatrace, Grafana, SCOM, OpsView, Venafi).
• Experience with observability automation, scripting (PowerShell or Python), Ansible, and API-based integrations across infra, apps, and services.
• Strong understanding of metrics, logs, traces, events, system performance, and event management concepts.
• Ability to lead observability initiatives and mentor staff in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience developing dashboards, alerts, service health views, and KPIs aligned to business and tech needs.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, incident/change management, and CMDB integration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize observability solutions across infrastructure, apps, services, cloud platforms, and OT environments.
• Improve alerting, telemetry collection, dashboards, and service health views to support operational excellence.
• Partner with infrastructure, app support, cybersecurity, network, and operations teams to ensure visibility across critical systems.
• Analyze incidents, identify gaps, and coordinate teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Provide consultative support on monitoring and observability design for internal projects and initiatives.
• Perform root cause analysis and design proactive monitoring and automation improvements.
• Mentor junior and mid-level staff in observability practices and standards.
• Review configurations, dashboards, and automation for quality and consistency.
• Lead knowledge-sharing and create internal docs, runbooks, and SOPs for observability.
