Roku, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Observability team. You will design, develop, and scale the platform used across Roku engineering to alert and monitor thousands of services, leveraging Go, Rust, and a suite of OSS observability tools.

You’ll work on AI-assisted engineering workflows, collaborate with infrastructure and platform teams, and contribute improvements to open-source projects while enhancing reliability and usability for developers.

Formación

• 8+ years in Infrastructure Engineering and/or DevOps with a focus on observability.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools and agents in daily development and operations work with LLM tooling.
• Strong programming in Go or Rust; comfortable cross-learning the other language.
• Experience deploying, operating, and extending open-source observability tools at scale.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Istio architectures; scalable integration.
• Cloud exposure: AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and scale Roku's observability platform for thousands of services.
• Build high-performance metrics components in Go and Rust atop open-source technologies.
• Apply AI-assisted workflows to design, test, and operate systems.
• Collaborate with platform teams to standardize observability tools.
• Improve stability, performance, and reliability of the observability stack.
• Automate onboarding for developers (dashboards, alerts, traces, etc.).
• Contribute open-source tooling back to the CNCF ecosystem.
• Lead design discussions, mentor engineers and interns, shape technical direction.
