Qualifications

• Reads and comprehends instructions, memos, and correspondence.
• Writes simple correspondence.
• Able to present information one-on-one or to small groups.
• Basic computer skills.
• Willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.

Responsibilities

• Directs and checks the work of other OB Technicians.
• Participates in orientation and training of OB Technicians new to the department.
• Checks labor rooms and delivery rooms for adequate well functioning equipment and supplies.
• Tracks preventive maintenance on equipment and expiration dates of supplies.
• Sets up emergency equipment.
• Welcomes patients to the unit and escorts them to the appropriate room.
• Obtains Kaiser Card and photo ID from patient.
• Transports patients to delivery room, Cesarean delivery room, ultrasound or post partum, when indicated.
• Scrubs for cesarean deliveries.
• Assists RN when patient is in the recovery room, delivery room and cesarean delivery room.
