Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, CA seeks an OB Technician to assist the Labor and Delivery Unit under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.

You will direct and check the work of other OB Technicians, participate in orientation and training of new staff, prepare rooms and equipment, transport patients, and support the RN in recovery and delivery areas.

This position requires High School Diploma/GED and Basic Life Support certification, with a focus on safety, confidentiality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Two+ years as Obstetrical Technician preferred.
• Able to read and comprehend instructions and memos.
• Must be willing to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.

Responsibilities

• Directs and checks the work of other OB Technicians.
• Participates in orientation and training of OB Technicians new to the department.
• Checks labor rooms and delivery rooms for adequate well functioning equipment and supplies.
• Transports patients to delivery areas as needed.
• Assists RN in recovery, delivery, and Cesarean areas.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of utility and supply rooms.
