Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Manager, O&M to lead the safe, reliable operation and maintenance of renewable energy assets in the United States. The role combines plant operations, maintenance planning, and regulatory compliance.

You will supervise plant personnel, manage budgets, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure adherence to NERC and industry standards. This position requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of power systems, and a proven ability to drive performance

Qualifications

• A 2-year or 4-year college degree in Business or technical hard science from an accredited US school is preferred
• Current journeyman or master electrician license may substitute for 2 years of experience
• NABCEP Certification or Electrical License preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ work experience in operations and/or maintenance of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems, including at least 2 years in renewables managing plants
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a lead or supervisor position
• Minimum 2 years’ experience managing facilities and personnel
• Complete understanding of substation equipment, functions and maintenance requirements
• Complete understanding of NERC as it applies to a power plant, substation, PRCs, MODs, CIPs, etc.
• Complete understanding of plant operations and environmental rules
• Knowledge of industry standards and OSHA regulations
• Experience with energy markets and regulatory interactions
• Experience with SCADA/DAS/CMMS systems
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Willingness to travel and work weekends/off shifts
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
• Experience using maintenance management platforms: SAP, COMBAT, Tableau, KPA Flex

Responsibilities

• Oversees plant operations to ensure reliable, safe and efficient performance within design parameters
• Monitors production and ensures compliance with rules, regulations, and laws
• Coordinates and resolves operational abnormalities
• Ensures timely maintenance and repair of plant components; performs preventive/predictive maintenance
• Prepares operating budgets and manages costs; procures equipment replacement and maintenance contractors
• Ensures staff complete safety and functional training; fosters a collaborative team environment across assets
• Performs operational analyses to support Asset Management and Project Development
• Reviews daily, weekly, monthly, and annual operational reports
• Keeps abreast of regulations, codes and standards; builds supplier relationships
• Acts as local liaison and participates in meetings and facility visits
