Job summary

The County of El Dorado is seeking a Program Coordinator within the Health and Human Services Agency, Community Services Division, based in South Lake Tahoe, CA. The role focuses on coordinating home-delivery meals, volunteer onboarding, and daily activities with kitchen staff to serve a high volume of meals to seniors.

Responsibilities include developing program goals, supervising staff, managing fiscal records, and coordinating outreach.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to possession of an Associate of Arts degree with major coursework in social services, psychology or a related field.
• Two years of experience in performing social service program eligibility determinations or program support work at a level equivalent to the County's class of Program Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Develop program goals and ensure implementation with contractual/funding requirements; assist in budgeting.
• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day operations of senior and family services programs (rental assistance, food distribution, emergency shelter, information/referral, senior activities and transportation).
• Provide day-to-day direction, performance reviews and staff training; maintain fiscal records and prepare reports within contractual limits.
• Direct receipt/review of program applications and determinations; design outreach and referral systems to reach target populations.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and implement policy/procedural changes to improve program results.
• Draft and edit educational materials; counsel applicants and make referrals to other services as applicable.
