Job summary

Dane County Nutrition Program is seeking a Nutrition Site Assistant to support the Senior Center team with daily operations for congregate and home-delivered meals.

The role involves volunteer coordination, participant communication, and inventory management, with a 20-hour workweek schedule (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri 8:00/8:30 am–1:00/1:30 pm). CPR/AED and SERV Safe certifications are expected within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years kitchen or institutional food service experience preferred.
• Experience with nutrition/meal programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist volunteers with home-delivered meals and on-site service.
• Assist with clean-up after meals.
• Update home delivery routes with Volunteer Manager.
• Record and track daily meal reservations.
• Communicate meal participant issues to staff.
• Monitor kitchen inventory and communicate needs to Volunteer Manager.
• Maintain bakery donations and restock supplies.
• Orient new senior participants to the meal site.
• Assist in driving meal delivery routes when needed.
