Job summary

EVANTERRACE in is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing in coordinating licensed and non-licensed staff delivering 24/7 care.

The role emphasizes supervising nursing services, developing policies, recruiting and training staff, and ensuring resident safety and regulatory compliance. A BSN and active state nursing license are preferred; 3–5 years of nurse management experience is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing with a BSN preferred.
• Must be in good standing with the State Board of Nursing and maintain all required continuing education/licensing requirements.
• 3-5 years of nurse management experience, preferably in a long term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, developing and supervising the activities of the nursing staff.
• Assist in the development and implementation of nursing services, objectives, policies and procedures.
• Recruit, hire and train nursing staff.
• Assist DON with employee appraisals and disciplinary actions.
• Act as back-up for DON, RN and LVN staff.
• Oversee clinical operations, including daily rounds and resident condition monitoring.
• Ensure resident safety and respect in care delivery.
• Liaise between residents, families and physicians.
• Attend staff meetings and report to DON on nursing operations.
• Assist DON with design, implementation and evaluation of nursing systems.
